- Check
all fasteners twice monthly for tightness and tighten as required. It
is particularly important that this procedure be followed at the beginning
of each season.
- To
prevent deterioration of materials, remove plastic swing seats and other
plastic accessories and take indoors when not in use for long periods,
and when temperatures are extreme.
- Check
all moving parts monthly during usage period, oil when neccessary. Check
wear on self lubricating bearings and replace if neccessary.
- Check
all hardware and equipment for sharp edges twice monthly during usage
season and replace them as necessary. It is especially important to
do this at the beginning of each new season.
- Check
swing seats and chains monthly during the usage season for evidence
of deterioration. Severe rusting or excessive wear, especially near
the top swing hanger or at the seat connection are evidence of chain
deterioration. Cracks in the protective plastic sleeve or seat itself
are also signs of deterioration. If any of these conditions exist, replacements

- Check
logs constantly for excessive cracking and splinters. Sand the logs
where splinters occur, and if the cracking constitutes any form of entrapment,
use a appropriate silicon to fill the cracks.
